Why create Facebook and Instagram audiences?
Imagine having a list of your restaurant guests or people similar to them. Facebook allows you to create such audiences and target them with ads. This increases the chances of them visiting your restaurant again or recommending it to their friends.
Why use a Pixel on the guest Wi-Fi page?
With SmartWiFi integration, the Meta Pixel automatically tracks activities on your guest Wi-Fi login page. No need to modify your main website. The system logs each “login” event when guests connect to your network, gathering valuable insights about your visitors.
Creating Facebook and Instagram Audiences:
Step 1: Setting Up the Meta Pixel
- Open Meta Events Manager.
- Click “Connect Data Sources” → choose “Web” → “Connect”.
- Enter a Dataset name (e.g., “WiFi Pixel”) → click “Create”.
- Copy the Dataset ID from Events Manager.

Step 2: Installing the Pixel
- Go to the “Integrations” section in your SmartWiFi dashboard.
- Paste the Dataset ID into the designated field.
- Wait for the first “login” events and confirm them in Meta Events Manager.

Step 3: Creating a Custom Facebook Audience
- Open Facebook Business Manager.
- Select “Custom Audience”.
- Choose the data source: Website → your WiFi Pixel.
- Set up the conditions:
- Event: “login”.
- Time range: for example, the last 3 months (maximum is 180 days).
Step 4: Creating a Lookalike Facebook Audience
- Find the custom audience you created earlier.
- Click “Create Lookalike Audience”.
- Set parameters:
- Region (e.g., country or city).
- Audience size.
What campaigns should you run with your Audiences?
For Custom Audiences:
- Welcome offers. Provide discounts or free desserts for their next visit.
- Announce new items. Share updates about new dishes or promotions.
- Gather feedback. Ask guests to leave reviews on Google or other platforms.
- Promote new branches. Inform customers about your new locations.
For Lookalike Audiences:
- Boost awareness. Share your restaurant’s concept with potential customers.
- Interest-based targeting. For example, if your audience loves Italian cuisine, promote special offers on pasta or pizza.
Additional Tips
- Experiment. Try different formats like photos, videos, and carousels.
- Test. Adjust texts, images, and audience segments.
- Analyze. Use Facebook analytics tools to measure campaign effectiveness.
